Arthouse Houston presents the next in our current series, Wes & Rick’s Pix, at the River Oaks Theatre! Join us for a special screening of Wim Wenders's WINGS OF DESIRE, chosen by Houston native and renowned director: Wes Anderson. Doors open at 6:15 PM. Arrive early to browse Brazos Bookstore's table of related reads. Then enjoy the full program, featuring a performance by aerialist Bailey Bunnie and a special video message sent from Houston native and renowned director Wes Anderson, followed by the feature film at 7:00 PM.
About WINGS OF DESIRE: Two angels, Damiel (Bruno Ganz) and Cassiel (Otto Sander), glide through the streets of Berlin, observing the bustling population, providing invisible rays of hope to the distressed but never interacting with them. When Damiel falls in love with lonely trapeze artist Marion (Solveig Dommartin), the angel longs to experience life in the physical world, and finds--with some words of wisdom from actor Peter Falk (playing himself) -- that it might be possible for him to take human form.
