About Nouvelle Vague

Nouvelle Vague, Richard Linklater’s love letter to the revolutionary magic of the French New Wave, reimagines the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless (1960) with a cast led by Zoey Deutch as Jean Seberg and Aubry Dullin as Jean-Paul Belmondo. As a Cahiers du Cinema critic, Godard (Guillaume Marbeck) turns to filmmaking with a mix of fresh faces and daring talents that bring his spontaneous, idiosyncratic film to life. Capturing the behind-the-scenes creative chaos at the heart of one of cinema’s most iconic and influential debuts, Linklater’s homage transports us to the streets of 1959 Paris, presented in a sparkling black-and-white 35mm film print.

One of the things in this world you genuinely and definitely cannot construct is an old building. Add to that: the rarity of an actual existing and operational movie palace. This one has a history literally like no other left in Houston.
